Devi Navaratri Utsav starts from  Ashwin Shukla pratipada to Navami i.e.7th October to 14th October 2021. It is pooja of Shakti of Mahakali, Maha Lakshmi, and Maha Saraswathi and also called Durga Navaratri, Sharadiya Navaratri, Sharan Navaratri, and Balaji Navaratri. First-day Ghat sthapana installing Durga Devi in Kalash and Maa Durga is worshipped in nine forms as Shailaputri, Brahma Chiarini, Chandra Ghanta, Kushmanda, Skandamatha, Katyayani, Kalaratri, Mahagauri, and Siddhidatri known as Nava Durga. During this Navaratri, devotees install sand-made an idol and perform Pooja for nine days, and on the last day idol is immersed in water.

Durga Pooja is popular in Calcutta, West Bengal, a grandeur celebration. In many Hindu family Kuldevatha is Shakti. Kuldevatha is the head and protector of Lineage.  Ancestors perform Pooja of Kuldevatha from generation to generation. Some Hindu family Kuldevatha is Lord Balaji of Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh. During this Navaratri, Srivari brahmosthavam is performed at Tirumala Tirupati. In this Navaratri, nine different types like clothes Jewellery and naivaidyam are offered to Durga Mata and Balaji.

In Navratri devotees not only perform pooja but also perform mantra sadhana respectively. For fulfillment of a wish, Devotees chant Durga Mantra or Nava Durga Mantra or Chandi mantra or  Dasa Mahavidya mantra or Balaji mantra with blessings of Gurudev or well-versed person to perform sadhana. According to Devi mahatyam most auspicious in Navaratri is Chandi pat known as Durga Sapthasathi or Chandi Sapthasathi or Nava Chandi consisting of 13 chapters with 700 verses divided into Pratham Charitra Chapter 1 recitals of Maha Kali, Madhyam Charitra Chapters 2,3,&4 recitals of Mahalakshmi and Utham Charitra chapters 5 to 13  recitals of Maha Saraswathi.

Every day Devotees chant Chandi paat and perform Nava Chandi Havan or on the day of Ashtami & Navami Chandi Havan is performed. Irrespective of Navaratri Chandi Havan can perform on auspicious days as Navachandi. Shatha Chandi, Sahasra Chandi, or Laksha Chandi. Chandi path is mantra and tantra procedure. After Chandi Havan Kumari pooja  i. e. girls aged up to nine years are offered clothes, jewelry, and food items. In Kumari, Pooja girls are worshipped as Shakti and their feet are decorated with Mehendi designs by offering Chandan, Kumkum, and flowers. There are called as Kumarika, Subhadra, Shambhavi, Chandika, Trimurti, Rohini, Kali, Kalyani and Katyani. Even in Navaratri every day Kumari Pooja is performed especially on Asthami.

In Navaratri Sahasra Pushparchana, (1000 flowers) Sahasra kumkuarchana Pooja is performed. On Moola Nakshatra Saraswati Pooja is performed and tamarind Rice popularly known as Pulihora is offered as Naivedyam. Some Devotees Celebrate only Ashtami, Navami, and Dasami. Devotees visit the Durga temple for darshan and evening pooja. In Guwahati, Assam Kamakhya Devi Shaktipeeth is famous for Navaratri Pooja. Apart from Durga Pooja Shakti is worshipped as  Kali, Tara, Shodashi Tripura Sundari, Tripura Bhairavi, Chinamasa, Bagalamukhi, Dhumavati, Bhuvaneshwari, Matangi, and Kamala are known as Dasa Maha Vidya. Pooja and sadhana of each Maha vidya are totally different with their special importance.
