The holy name Sri Rama itself is Tarak Mantra, the pure light of consciousness – Atma Rama. He performed Tara sadhana during Chaitra Navaratri since then he was named Tarakram and recited his name Srirama itself Tarak Mantra. It symbolizes beautiful life. तारक: तारनेवाला मंत्र. Lord Rama succeeded over Arshadvarg or shadripu i.e. negative characterstics in his life to protect dharma. In kali yuga, the simplest way to vision God is Srirama Japa and his sankeertana. Rama Nama Japa is the path of sadhana to be free from obstacles.
Now let us know about Rama. Lord Rama belongs to Ikshvaku Dynasty which is Solar Dynasty in Hindu cosmology called Suryavanshi a Solar Family. Lord Krishna belongs to Lunar Dynasty called Chandravamshi. The Surya Vamshi and Chandravamshi are from Tryeta yug.
The legend of Suryavanshi is Rushi Kashyap grandson of Brahma. He got four wives Aditi, Diti, Kadru, and Vainathena. Lord Surya was born to Rushi Kashyap and Aditi. Since then Suryavamshi Lineage started. The great forefathers are the Kings of Ikshvaku and Raghu. Raja Dilip son was Raghu his son Aja. King Aja and Indumati got a son Dasarath. The underlying epic of Rama Is with King Dasarath. It is evident in the history of Raghuvamsa that children are born only after performing Homam and Pooja. Prior to the birth of Dasarath, Dilip a legendary King of the Ikshvaku Dynasty does not have children for a long-time and he expressed his grief to Kula Guru Vashishta Rushi.

Then he explained the reason and asked him to perform Kamadhenu pooja (Holy cow) worshipped by God and Goddess in an abode of 33 crores of devathas. After performing Pooja to Kamadhenu, the Dilip Raja got a son by the name of Raghu his son is Aja and his son is Dasarath having 3 wives Kausalya, Sumitra, and Kaikeye, but he doesn’t have children like his ancestor King Dilip. Similarly, his Lineage Guru Vashishtha Rushi performed Putra Kameshthi Yagna and he has given holy Payasam to King Dasarath to share among his wives.
After consuming Payasam his three wives conceived. Mata Kaushalya delivered a baby boy on Chaitra Shukla Navami in Punarvasu Star at 12 P.M. in Ayodhya and named Srirama Chandra. Since then Navami is celebrated as Sri Rama Jayanti. We all celebrate our birthday but not as Jayanti. The holy personalities or God or goddesses’ birth is celebrated as Jayanti which means successful life. Srirama Navami is the religious worship of Lord Rama and his cradle ceremony is performed with enthusiasm and bhakti and offers Gulal with flowers.
Lord Rama married to Sita, daughter of King Janaka. Sri Sitarama Kalyanam is also celebrated on Navami day to solve life conflicts. It is also a religious marriage celebration of Lord Rama and Sita. The main holistic dish is Vadapappu and Panakam. The Vadapappu is prepared with Moongdal or channa dal.

Soak any dal for an hour and remove water add small pieces of mango and green chilies, grated wet coconut, coriander leaves, lemon juice, and a pinch of salt, mix well. Panakam recipe is made of jaggery water with the added flavor of black pepper and cardamom powder and offered to Lord Srirama as Naivaidyam.
Lord Rama is the incarnation of Maha Vishnu and he is Seventh Avatar in Dasavatar. Lord Vishnu had manifested himself as a human and worshipped Goddess Durga. He has taken birth to give Moksha to his dwarapalaka Jay and Vijay from Vaikuntham. They were cursed to be born as demons and they were born as Ravana and Kumbhakarn in Ram Avatar. Ravan grandson of Lord Brahma was killed by Lord Rama and attained moksha.
The most religious text is Ramayan written by Kaka Brushundi (Bahasundi) which describes the life of Lord Rama and how he delighted all. Later on, Valmiki and Tulsidas also wrote Ramayan. Even Devi Bhagavatam describes Ramayana. Valmiki Ramayan, Ramacharitmanas by Tulsidas, Rambhakt Hanuman, Tyagaraj srirama keertan, Ramadas Bhakti. Vibeeshan, Jatayu, Sugreev, and Shabari are principal devotees of Lord Rama.

There are two pilgrim places one is Ayodhya birthplace of Rama and another is the Bhadrachalam temple constructed by Ramadas in the 17th century in the glory of Sri Sitaramachandra, located in Telangana State. Every year on Srirama Navami Sita Rama Kalyanam is performed and the Chief Minister of Telangana carries Pearls Talambralu and silk cloths (marriage ritual) on his head to offer at the time of Kalyanam. It is a practice for ages.
